Publicly at least, Atari insists they are still working on the VCS. Privately, I assume they're waiting for the hype they created to die down so they can slink off and pretend none of this ever happened.

We're three-quarters of the way through Atari's crowdfunding pre-order campaign for the new VCS and so far 11,000 people have paid a combined three million dollars for a thing that doesn't exist. It sort of reminds me of that famous scene from one of my favorite movies.

Tomorrow's the big day! After nearly a year of waiting, Atari SA will finally start taking orders for the new VCS.
So far no word on when they will actually start making the new VCS.
